DSF
Second Generation Delivery Sequence File

A big question facing mailers is how to prove that a given address is a valid address. DSF2 (Identifies Deliverable Addresses and Specific Addresses) is a data file that contains all domestic addresses serviced by the U.S. Postal Service®. Each address is a separate record on the file that conforms to all USPS® addressing standards.

The individual address records include ZIP + 4®, Carrier Route, Delivery Sequence, Delivery type and Seasonal Delivery information.

At Peachtree, we take our client file and process it against the DSF2 file. This process will produce a match or a no-match result against each record and are described by a series of footnote codes. No DSF2 address information is provided without referencing an existing address on the original list.

The DSF2 process does not provide change of address information. As the clients use our DSF2 services, it helps reduce the amount of undeliverable-as-addressed (UAA) pieces, which saves clients money, and results in more efficient mailing programs.
