SecureFTP

  • Web Interface

For most users the web interface will provide the easiest method to securely transfer data. Using SSL 128 bit encryption to protect your data, the same encryption used to protect your credit card information when making an online purchase, you are assured that your data is safe. By installing the ActiveX plug-in (supported on Microsoft Internet Explorer), or the Java plug-in (supported on most browsers with Java support), you can insure that the files you transfer arrive as error free, exact copies of the original file. These plug-ins also provide real time file compression and transfer status.

The web interface is also where you can manage your account information, such as changing your password, or updating the e-mail addresses that our system uses to send file notifications to.

Some benefits of the web interface are:

  • All information is transmitted securely
  • Easy to setup and understand
  • Simple ActiveX or Java plug-in not only provides the user with a better experience, it also guarantees accurate, and error free file transfers.
  • Firewall friendly because it uses the same communication ports that secure web sites use.

Getting started using the web interface is easy. Once your account manager sets up your SecureFTP site you will receive an e-mail with a link to the site, https://secureftp.peachtreedata.com. From there you will login in with the user name and password provided to you via e-mail. If this is your first time logging in to the site then you will be prompted to change your password.

After you log in you will have the opportunity to install the ActiveX file transfer wizard. This is highly recommended. Please follow the on screen messages carefully as you will be required to give permission to install this plug-in. This is a one time process that you will only need to go through during your initial setup. At any point you can always go to the "Account Options" link in the upper right corner of the web page to change your plug-in settings, or download the latest version.

After the ActiveX installation is complete you should be looking at your home page. You can always return to this page at any time by clicking on the "Home" link on the left navigation bar.

To upload a file you can click on the "Click Here to Launch the Upload Wizard" link from your Home Page. This launches the wizard allowing you to select the file, or files, that you would like to send to us.

Using the Upload Wizard you can select multiple files at the same time.

During the file transfer you will see the status of your upload, estimated time to complete and transfer performance,

After the transfer is complete the web page will display an "Upload Transfer Wizard Report" showing that each file was completely transferred and the integrity was verified. The integrity verification insures that the file on the SecureFTP site is an identical copy of the original file.

When Peachtree Data completes your data processing services and places your return file on the SecureFTP site you will be notified via e-mail. After you login in to the web site you will see a "New File" notification window. From here you can click the "download" link, and the Wizard will launch prompting you for a location to save the file.

When you have new files available for download, you will see them listed on your home page. Click on the download link to start downloading the files.

You can also click on the "Go to your home folder" link, and then select the "Download" directory to see a list of all files that are available to you. This list will include files that you have previously downloaded and are no longer considered "new." If you have multiple files to download you can select the "Advanced File List" link. Then "check" each file you would like to transfer and click the "download checked" button.

At anytime you are able to use the "Account Options" link to update your user profile. This enables you to change your password and change the e-mail address used to send upload and download notices. You can specify multiple e-mail addresses and separate them with a comma.

In summary the web site will provide most users with an easy and secure method to exchange data with us. However if you are a power user, or would like to learn other methods of securely exchanging data with us, please read on. The information on the other methods do tend to get a bit technical. If you have any questions on the use of any of these methods please feel free to contact us.
