We are happy to announce that we have added Dedupe as a service on our FAST automated system.

This enables you quick and easy access to identify duplicate records in your mailing files. This can be processed by itself, or at the same time as other services, such as NCOALink.

We offer three levels of duplicate detection:

  1. Individual – First name, last name and address match
  2. Family – Last name and address match
  3. Address – Address match

You can request what level of match you would like in the FAST Services file to match your specific needs.

Every record that is a duplicate will receive a unique group id. This will allow you to easily see all of the related, duplicate, records that matched each other. We will also provide a flag indicating if this record is considered the “master” record, or a subordinate record. Typically the subordinate records are removed from a file prior to mailing. The master and unique records are normally mailed as they represent a single record for that person, or address.

Pricing for Dedupe is $0.75 per 1,000 records, with a $25.00 minimum per job.

What tool are you using to do the dedupe? Can you do fuzzy matching?

      Hi Mike!

Fuzzy matching is used for matches. This is particularly useful when matching names.

All names are also evaluated against a nickname table. This makes it possible for “Bob” to match “Robert”, or “Mike” to match “Michael”.

For automated Dedupe we use exact matching on the address data, and tight on the name data. This allows us to identify and return matches that we are confident in.

We can customize the match criteria for any job. However, this would need to be done in our manual, Full-Service, offering instead of the FAST automated system.
