Number to Name

All you have is a phone number. We'll tell you who's behind it.

Turn the phone numbers you've collected into names and mailing addresses, so a bare number in your data becomes a customer you can actually reach.

Plenty of businesses collect phone numbers at the point of sale — it's quick, and customers give them willingly. But months later, that's all you have: a column of numbers with no names, no addresses, no way to send an offer or a thank-you. The customers are real. The data just can't reach them.

What a reverse phone append does

A standard phone append starts with names and addresses and finds numbers. Reverse phone append runs the other way: you have the numbers, and we find the people. Each phone number — landline or cell — is matched to the name and mailing address behind it, turning a bare entry into a customer record you can market to.

That opens the channel phone numbers can't give you on their own: the mailbox. A postcard to a lapsed customer, a catalog to a frequent buyer, an invitation to the location they shop — none of it possible while the record was just ten digits.

What you get back

Your data returns with the original phone numbers intact and the matched names and mailing addresses appended, record by record. Every record carries coding that shows what was matched, and unmatched numbers come back flagged — we'd rather show you an honest match report than a padded one.

If you want to go further, add a demographic overlay: age, income, household, and lifestyle elements on the newly matched records, so you can segment the audience instead of mailing it blind.

Ask us whether it's worth running

Reverse appends pay off when the numbers are reasonably fresh and the customers are worth reaching by mail. Sometimes they aren't, and we'll say so — telling you what your data doesn't need has been part of the job since 1994. Start with a conversation, and a real person will look at your situation before anything runs.

How it works

  1. Start with a conversation

We'll ask where the numbers came from and what you want to do with the matches — mail, profiling, or both. That shapes what to append and what to skip, and we'll tell you plainly what your data needs and what it doesn't.

  2. We match your phone numbers

Each number — landline or cell — is matched to the name and mailing address behind it.

  3. Enhance the new records if you want

Once a number has a name and address, it can carry more. Add a demographic overlay and those bare numbers become customer profiles you can segment and target.

  4. Everything comes back documented

Your original records return intact, with names and addresses appended and each record coded so you can see what was matched and what wasn't.
